Zdeněk Kopanica
Head of R&DBrain4Industry

As Head of the Additive Technologies Department at Brain4Industry, he leads research and development activities focused on bringing advanced manufacturing technologies into industrial practice. He combines expertise in materials and manufacturing processes with the needs of industrial partners, leading projects from initial concept and experimental validation through to practical application.

Within the consortium, he is responsible for the strategic direction and further development of additive technologies, the preparation of new research and development projects, and building partnerships with industrial companies and research institutions. His goal is to develop solutions that deliver tangible value to companies and support the transfer of research results into real-world manufacturing environments.

Before joining Brain4Industry, he worked at the Department of Manufacturing Technology at the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering, Czech Technical University in Prague (CTU), where he was involved in research and teaching in the field of foundry engineering. His research focused primarily on metal matrix composites, foundry technologies, improving material efficiency in casting production, and the more sustainable use of moulding materials. He also has experience combining traditional manufacturing processes with 3D printing and reverse engineering.
