Tomáš Mocek is the head of the HiLASE Centre of the Institute of Physics of the Czech Academy of Sciences. He specializes in power lasers and his research focuses on diode-pumped solid-state lasers and their hi-tech applications.

He has published more than 215 articles in reputed international journals, which have received more than 4,600 citations, and has an H-index of 35. He has received many awards, such as “Josef Hlávka Award”, “Otto Wichterle Award” and “Outstanding Editor of Chinese Laser Press”. He has played key roles in various research and development projects with a total value of about 80 million euros.
